Summit Renewable Resources (SRR) promises a dedication to sustainable, eco-friendly energy sources. As an innovative energy development company, SRR’s strategic focus involves integrating renewable energy facilities to provide sustainable, environmentally-friendly electric power generation resources which deliver economic value to investors and customers alike.

OUR PURPOSE

As a pioneer of the integrated renewable energy farm concept, SRR takes renewable energy production to the next level by uniting:

• the best-available renewable power generation technologies,
• emerging markets, and
• identified bulk power system needs.

The result — renewable energy production that is fully functional, providing a reliable component of our nation’s long-term energy strategy.

Each SRR project under development is specifically sited to take advantage of existing electricity grid infrastructure. This minimizes the start-up costs while also being advantageously situated in the path of planned major system upgrades. Plus, this enables SRR’s projects to expand the infrastructure, as necessary, to move additional energy to market.

What Is an “Integrated Renewable Energy Farm”?

While renewable energy technologies offer many benefits over fossil and nuclear-fueled power generation sources, they have also historically suffered from certain limitations which have challenged their wide-scale adoption. For example, wind turbines and solar arrays have major operating cost advantages over other power generation resources because their fuel input–wind and sun–is free. However, because they rely on these intermittent fuel sources, they stop producing power on calm or cloudy days.

In recent years, utility-scale applications of wind and solar power have increased as the initial capital costs of the technologies has significantly decreased. However, the value of these resources is often limited by their variable nature. SRR believes we can overcome these challenges, and project value can be significantly enhanced, by combining multiple energy generation sources in a single site. Case in point, a wind farm with a solar array and a large-scale battery back-up system. By integrating various complementary technologies, project reliability is increased along with the ability to capture the economic benefits of a more “firm” energy supply.

OUR PLAN

Summit Renewable Resources first integrated renewable energy farm initially focuses on wind energy technology with the goal to add  complementary technologies; such as solar arrays and energy storage devices to diversify the project’s energy sources and provide energy price arbitrage opportunities.

The SRR business model continues the approach of developing small facilities, strategically sized and located, to take maximum advantage of the characteristics of the power grid and energy markets in which they are located.

Moreover to selling power to local utilities and other customers, SRR will capture additional value streams which can be realized from renewable energy facilities including:

• Monetization of federal and state tax credits
• Sales of the environmental attributes of renewable power production such as Renewable Energy Credits and Emissions Reduction Credits
• Sales of energy and capacity services to regional power grid operators such as the Southwest Power Pool and the Electric Reliability Council of Texas
