What Are the Benefits?
Currently, the majority of energy in the U.S. comes from liquid fossil fuels. As knowledge of the environmental and economic benefits of
eco-friendly energy become more prevalent, Summit Renewable Resources is investing in the transition toward more sustainable sources.
NON-RENEWABLE vs. SUSTAINABLE ENERGY: The Economic Impact
Globally
Fossil fuels are limited and susceptible to environmental, social, and political factors causing constant fluctuation in cost. Electric bills have doubled in the last ten years, due in large part to the skyrocketing price of natural gas. Wind power offers great potential to help control rapidly rising energy costs. Wind has zero fuel cost, and wind power is likely to lower wholesale electricity and natural gas prices.
Nationally
Sustainable energy can be found and manufactured 100% of the time domestically! The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) is partially dedicated to the advancement of energy efficiency and renewable energy development including:
TRANSMISSION OF ENERGY — FROM SOURCE TO SITE — WILL NOT BE AN ISSUE FOR SUMMIT RENEWABLE RESOURCES' WIND FARMS, AND OTHER SUSTAINABLE ENERGY DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS!
Regionally
Job creation and improvement of local economies is a benefit seen mostly close to home. A worldwide transition to energy–efficient buildings would potentially create millions of jobs, as well as "greening" existing employment for many of the estimated 111 million people already working in the construction sector. Achieving a 20% wind energy supply would support roughly 500,000 jobs in the US, with more than 150,000 directly employed by the wind industry.*

NON-RENEWABLE vs. SUSTAINABLE ENERGY: The Environmental Impact
Globally
Replacing non-renewable sources of energy with more sustainable options:
The majority of our electricity comes from burning fossil fuels, primarily coal, creating pollution that leads to smog, acid rain, and climate change.
Nationally
Thousands of individuals and families across the country choose to pay a little extra each month to support clean energy production and reduce their environmental impact. Studies show that more than 80% of individuals surveyed in the U.S. would pay extra for goods and services from a company that demonstrates a commitment to sustainability.*
According to the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, a majority of the demand for Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) comes from voluntary purchases by businesses. Companies are taking a larger role in the development of renewable energy because of the long-term positive impact it will bring in the future.

Regionally
States have been taking the lead on the advancement of carbon emission reduction programs in the U.S. and efforts are underway on regional levels to create a cap on carbon emissions and begin limiting them in the coming years ushering in renewable energy. As clean energy goes from being a luxury to becoming a staple, people are becoming more aware of the impact on not only the environment, but our daily lives as well. Some are now choosing to "go green" and diversifying energy sources in you local environment is a large first step.
